When a licensed attorney commits any ethical violation, including but not limited to an arrest, indictment, or conviction, the State Bar requires self-reporting and may take action. We will work with you to respond to any action taken by the State Bar and to ultimately resolve your ethical issue.
On May 23, 2018, the California Supreme Court issued California Rule of Court, rule 9.9.5, requiring the re-fingerprinting of most active attorneys licensed in California, effective June 1, 2018. The deadline to submit proof that you have been fingerprinted without penalty is April 30, 2019.
For some of our clients, this requirement has raised ethical concerns related to non-reporting of a an arrest and/or conviction. We can help you resolve an ethical issue arising from the rule 9.9.5 or any other ethical matter for which you may need counseling. We will communicate with the State Bar on your behalf, respond to inquiries, initiate action, and get you the best possible resolution to your situation.
